How Effective Would Nathan Drake's Collection Agency Work Go?

By Rob Sutter

Known for his treasure hunting capabilities, Nathan Drake is nothing short of excellent in this line of work. His ability to decipher mind-bending puzzles is only matched by his propensity of fighting in all respects. As a result, Drake has made a name for himself as someone who can attain any artifact, no matter how ancient it may be. However, Drake's life is not without its sketchiness and that's where I can see a collection agency taking action against this person.

Drake wasn't exactly working as a treasure hunter all his life, though he was fascinated in it in his youth. He believed that he belonged to the lineage of Sir Francis Drake and, as a result, believed that anything belonging to the family was his. He thought nothing of taking items from a museum, for instance, which involved quite a number of chases. Drake certainly didn't endear himself to many people, though he had met his future mentor Victor Sullivan aka Sully at this point in his life.

It's hard to discredit the fact that he had gone up against many groups which wanted the same artifacts as he did. Drake's fighting capabilities would come into play here, whether it was through throwing fists or firing guns. His precision was seen in both respects and you have to admire someone who can easily fend off brutes twice his own size. He has a lot of talent as a brawler, which only makes his potential of landing in jail that much greater.

To name one instance, Drake once snagged a ring and decoder from a museum when he was younger, his reasoning being that it belonged to his ancestors. The truths within are ones which people can debate but no matter what, a collection agency could be hired to collect what is owed. Drake's speed and physical ability wouldn't so easily come into play. All it would take is a reputable agency such as R.R.S. in order to wrap the case up successfully.

I think that Drake would need all of the help he could get if he wound up in such legal trouble. I don't think that all of the treasure-hunting capabilities in the world would be able to help him out in this regard. He would need to either be craftier - which may be possible considering how well he's done in collecting treasure - or simply bite the bullet and accept punishment. There's nothing wrong with accepting defeat now and then, right?
