Facts About Slave Trade In America

By Leslie Ball

Three centuries ago in the United States there started a very popular and inhumane trade of workers. Slave trade in America was done by many people by shipping people from Africa to America so that they can work in their farms without pay. It is hard to understand how these people managed to get through these times. Some say they were just loyal while others say they were docile because they never managed to resist the American rule.

Some historians say that the Africans were just too obedient and docile as a race that they were never able to device successful ways that they can free themselves from their enslavers. Some of them even go as far as saying that they were stupid at the time and they never had the power to think of a perfect way to rebel the white people rule.

The slaves were subjugated to a lot of harsh treatments by their masters for nearly two and a half centuries a time that many people consider too long to live in oppression. However, with time more people started to rise against the slave masters and the cases of slaves killing their masters started to rise. Many people still did not have enough courage to form successful rebellion associations.

After more centuries of oppression these slaves could not take it anymore and they decided to form revolts. In the 1900s only, there were over thirty different revolts by the slaves against their masters. For a rebellion to be classified as a revolt it must be made of more than slaves and their main aim should be getting back their freedom. These became very popular after the oppression had become too much for the slaves.

Although the slaves in the past centuries managed to free themselves, there is still some form of slavery that continues in modern day America. There are millions of people who live in slavery today but they do not know of ways in which they can completely free themselves from the oppression they are experiencing. The following are some of the things that have to be done to completely end the modern day slavery.

The first action to be taken is to increase the public awareness to the slavery which is taking place. Numerous people are presently not conscious of the bondage that is occurring in these modern days therefore there is no way they can help. Increasing wakefulness will help more individuals to get dedicated in this fight

A lot of funds are needed I there is any hope of winning the fight against slave trade. In order to get the required resources there is need for different governments to show their commitment in the fight. They can also set aside very harsh punishments for people involved in slavery to discourage people from practicing the trade.

If all the things that have been mentioned above are done, people of the future generation will be able to look back and hear that slavery once existed but it was completely eradicated. Otherwise people will continue to suffer and be oppressed by their masters while people watch and do nothing about it.
