Tips For Time Management As A Student

By Hedrick Lepsch

One thing you learn quickly as a student is that time management is harder than passing organic chemistry. While some individuals are good at using their time well, many of us live life crisis to crisis.

The most wonderful, and perhaps only wonderful, thing about finals week is that it is the last hurrah of a semester, and once it is successfully completed, you can take a break, breathe easy, and have fun. With that in mind, studying for finals can be a slightly more enjoyable task, or at least you can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Organization, This is always the foundation to cleanliness and if you really want to keep up on things you need to be able to organize things in a systematic and simple manner.

Create a flexible daily schedule. The most productive people are consistent in their daily habits. Consistency in your schedule (i.e. bedtime, lunchtime and work time) helps you buffer out unproductive time. Also be sure to schedule time to time to relax and sleep. As they say, all work and no play make Jack a dull boy.

This is the reason that your organization should be simple and manageable, so you can keep up on things in a short amount of time each day.

It is also important to try studying in many different ways-if you are studying for a math test, is it easier for you to try several similar questions before moving on to a new topic? Or is it more effective for you to switch it up and to consistently try new and different things?

Does studying alone work best for you? Or studying in a group with others in your same class? Or is it most effective for you to study around other people, but not collaboratively? Learning who it is best to study with is a great way to stay focused.

Take time to keep up on it, Many people think that the time will just magically appear for them to keep their apartments or living spaces clean, but what they soon find is that pursuing a business administration degree, work and an ever impending social scene is much more demanding than they ever realized.

Every master of procrastination can become a master of time management. So if you are daunted by your course load this semester for your accounting or computer science degree, remember with proper time management even the most daunting of tasks manageable. Now get back to work.
