The containment berms are easy ways to beautify a certain landscape. This is done to appraise land that is dull and flat. A berm is designed to hold certain things like water or even cultivate flowers in it. By following recommended guidelines, the landscape troubles in a flat land can be easily eliminated. One needs to have necessary tools for successful setting of collapsible tanks.

It is important to set and decide on a design of building one. This is by first considering the intention for which one is setting up the collapsible wall. It should trail upwards hence forming an elevation on the landscape. The widths and lengths should not be the same, but a berm is highly dependent on the desires of the owner.

In most cases the height of most walls range from eighteen to twenty four inches. Designing clear shapes is essential in order to meet their purposes. Most people use crescent shapes because home owners believe that the shape makes them look more appealing. Some necessary materials for the process include sand, soil and rubles. These materials are usually filled on the wall so that the desired shape is met easily.

Collapsible walls are built anywhere on the garden. It is for this reason that one needs to clear up all grass nearby. By following the desired shape, remember to dig out the plan as outlined. Build a wooden retaining wall to hold off excess soil and dirt from falling into the tank.

Add the required amount of soil on to excavated site. To reach desired height, continue tamping as you make the required slope. Slopes have to be inclined to the outer part of walls. Remember to follow designed building manual so as to attain levels required. Peaks of such walls are situated towards one end, rather than the center so as to attain a more appealing natural looking appearance.

After spreading top soil on walls and clean fills, roll water on it. Rolling should be done using smooth soil only. Use water sprays or even water rollers. Water rollers used are the same ones used in lying of turf. Careful spraying of water helps in filling of any sinkhole that may appear on walls. With time, collapsible walls become part of the natural landscape.

It is important to plaster collapsible walls. Covering the walls with ballast helps in reducing visibility of wooden parts. Laying sod on the walls is vital. When laying sod, keep each of these pieces apart from each other. Press firmly so as to bind oil, ballast and sods together. Wall owners need to water the turf daily. This is in an effort to ensure that the sod has fully rooted.

Another purpose of containment berms is to help in redirecting drainage on land. It also serves as an additional raised element. However, in drainage, the contours in the landscape may later the intended purpose of the walls. Use fresh turf especially peat type as it is less weighty and less expensive as compared to soil backed turf. Under normal conditions, cut the turf to low lengths.
