Fluorescent are very energy efficient. They can use 80 percent less power and can last 4 to 10 times. They are highly recommended for areas that required long periods of time, such as the kitchen or living room. This is suitable for houses that are in the tropical area and for offices that operates day and night. Starting with the light emitting diodes or LEDs, which are very common and can be found in any hardware stores or department stores. These are a solid state bulbs which have semiconductors that changes the electricity into light. They are a bit expensive but in the long run it is cost efficient. Since it does not uses a lot of power, only utilize 20 to 25 percent, and it is long lasting up to 25 times. It is very diverse since it has a large variety with shapes and colors to choose from.

Another cost efficient is the halogen lighting. Used as downlights or reflector lamps. Lower voltage does not make it more energy efficient or more cost effective but you need to choose low wattage globes to make savings.
