There are numerous titles that can be of help to persons who are terminally ill. The authors give personal accounts or experiences as care givers, relatives or friends who have nursed the sick in their sunset years. Terminal illness books are meant to encourage the sick and their care givers through the examples of characters in the stories.

The Fault In Our Stars- this is an amazing story by John Green about a teenage girl who has been diagnosed with cancer. She enlists into a support group that is made up of terminally ill teenagers. The book traces the lives of other teenagers battling different conditions. They love and social lives are intriguing.

My Sisters Keeper- this is the work of Randy Pausch that focuses on the reaction after the bombshell about being terminally ill is dropped. It helps you understand this moment. Persons waiting for their results and caregivers will find it very resourceful. It delves into the mind of an anxious patient and tells of their expectations and reactions.

Before I Die- the news that you are terminally ill comes with the impression that your days are numbered. Jenny Downham narrates how the main character pens a To DO Before I Die List after realizing that she only has a few months left. Top on that list is sex. The list exposes her to wonderful experiences that re-energize her failing body. It will help you understand the final moments.

Deadline- Ben Wolf has always looked forward to his final year. Bad news about his health are about to affect his plans. He has an year to do all he ever wanted from being the best footballer to changing the life of a local drunk and giving the civics teacher a daily migraine. He opts to keep it a secret, but in his surrounding, there are more secrets that he could ever imagine.

Me and the Earl and the Racing Girl- high school espionage intrigues Greg Gaines. He has an accomplice named Earl. Gregs mother forces him to get back with Rachel, a girl diagnosed with leukemia. An idea pops out that Greg can make a movie about Rachel. It is rated The Worst Ever but it acts as a springboard to stardom for Greg, Earl and Rachel. It is now a battle to keep up with the demands of being in the limelight for Greg.

Ruin is a 250 pages book by Rachel van Dyken. The main character is in denial about the things she has witnessed. Bouts of depression are all she has known. It stays as such until Michals Wes appears. The girl thought that the new experiences would mean something new to her. The entry of Wes becomes her downfall instead of lifting her. How this happens is intriguing to read over the fast paced book.

Death of a Super Hero- Antony McCarten narrates the story of Donald, a teenager who turns violent because of his condition. His obsession with sex, music and drugs worries his parents and teachers. They wish he can fight his battles without escapism. While the parents hope that the psychologist will offer a solution, he becomes a victim in need of salvation.
