Nclex Review Courses Are Very Useful

Being ready for a big exam is vital. The NCLEX review courses are also known as the National Council Licensure Examination. This is an exam that nurses take to see if they are prepared enough to enter entry-level nursing practice. However one will first need to complete and pass with an accredited nursing degree.

You must first apply for your license from the state board of nursing and they will then see if you meet the criteria. If you are successful you need to register to take this exam. Once this has been completed you will receive a Candidate bulletin in the mail. Registering is easy by either telephone or filling out a registration form and mailing it back to them.

The RN or a registered nurse has completed an Associate's Degree or a Bachelor of Science Degree. They must have passed their NCLEX RN exam as well. To complete the AA degree one will need to take a certain amount of courses and have worked for a stipulated amount of hours at a hospital or health care facility.

Saunders Comprehensive Guide is so full of information and the content go from topic to topic. It is an easy read and even comes with a CD. The older version is sold at $32, while the latest at $52.

In order to get experience outside of the classroom they are required to work under a registered nurse in a nursing home or health care facility. They are given the opportunity to confer with others in the team about patient assessments and well as getting involved with all the plans of caring for them. They will be involved in all aspects just as if they were already qualified.

This is a multiple choice exam that is used using a computerized Adaptive Test program. This is set out to get accurate results of your competency level. RN nurses will have to answer about 75 questions and the LPN nurses about 85. The computer will be able to give you your results after a few minutes, this will minimize any waiting.

If your results come back and you are boarder line, you will be asked to answer more questions until a final result can be made. This could be in an excess of 265 different questions. The time allocated is about five hours and a few minutes are set aside for you to become familiar with the computer as well as two ten minute breaks.

This is just the first of the tests you will be completing. Once the above is done you will then have to take another done by the National Council's testing service. This will however take about a month for your results and the Board of Nursing will mail them to you when they are available. Failing this, you will receive a diagnostic profile that will let you know where you scored your points in the knowledge and performance areas. This can be re-taken as many times as needed. The courses will help you to brush up on anything and everything that you will need to know.
